On September 14, Californians will go to the polls to answer a simple question: Does Governor Gavin Newsom deserve to lead the Golden State?
An objective examination of his record clearly shows that he failed against the Californians from Costa Mesa to Crescent City. Gavin Newsom’s disastrous policies have left California in a much worse state than before his failed term. He was nothing short of the worst governor in California history: the California Dream has turned into a nightmare under his watch.
Due to Gavin Newsom’s failed leadership, California tops all the bad lists. The state has the highest homelessness rate in the country – in fact, more than a quarter of the homeless population in the United States resides in California.
California’s unemployment rate is second nationally, and housing costs are the most expensive in the country with an average price of over $ 800,000.
DAVID MARCUS: DON’T PUT A FORK IN CALIFORNIA RECALL
Newsom’s totalitarian approach to COVID-19, marked by some of America’s toughest lockdowns, has spurred this economic destruction; by attacking small businesses, undermining workers and strangling any semblance of economic return from the pandemic, Newsom bears responsibility for the catastrophe Californians are currently facing.
He also bears responsibility for the current exodus from his state – so many Californians are fleeing to other states that California has just lost a seat in Congress for the first time in its history.
It’s crucial to remember that Newsom flouted its own draconian restrictions even as it sought to control the lives of its citizens through authoritarian blockades.
An economy – and a state – in flames. Authoritarian confinements that kill jobs. Soaring hypocrisy, dishonesty and crime. This is Gavin Newsom’s California.
Images of him unmasked dining at the ultra-exclusive French Laundry restaurant – accompanied by medical lobbyists, just days after he imposed brutal shutdowns on ordinary Californians – are the very definition of hypocrisy. He is a man who has no interest in the people he has sworn to serve. For Gavin Newsom, the blockades are for ordinary people, not for elites like him.

The failures of this governor are not limited to a tanking economy and hypocritical and authoritarian blockades. Newsom has also presided over a staggering increase in crime in his state. California saw a 31% increase in homicides in 2020 as several of its cities decided to fund their police departments. In San Francisco, Newsom’s hometown, videos of shoplifters brazenly stealing goods without fear of reprisal have gone viral.
Meanwhile, forest fires rage more and more regularly – and the worst may be yet to come.

What did Newsom do when he had the opportunity to lead wildfire prevention? He lied, dramatically exaggerating the area his administration had treated to prevent the fires by 690%. Newsom also slashed the state’s budget for firefighting by more than $ 150 million. It is backward and irresponsible “leadership”.
An economy – and a state – in flames. Authoritarian confinements that kill jobs. Soaring hypocrisy, dishonesty and crime.
This is Gavin Newsom’s California.
He has repeatedly attempted to nationalize this election, appealing to far-left surrogates like Senator Elizabeth Warren and Vice President Kamala Harris and even President Joe Biden and denigrating the very legitimate concerns of voters about his record in function. It’s just a cheap political trick.
Californians, Republicans and Democrats alike, are fed up with Newsom’s failed masterclass.
