Pogba looks back on Man United’s draw.
Paul Pogba reflected on Manchester United’s 1-1 draw at Southampton yesterday, a result he said could have a detrimental effect on the club’s season.
The Frenchman started the season in sublime form, with his assist for Mason Greenwood’s equalizer added to the four he provided against Leeds United last week, making him the first player in Premier history. League to score five goals in the first two games of a season.

Historically, Pogba has been known to come in and out of form, so United fans are hopeful he can continue his current purple patch over the weeks and months to come.
While the Old Trafford loyalists will be pleased with his contribution early in his sixth season since returning to the club, the midfielder himself expressed disappointment at not coming back from St. Mary’s with all three points yesterday.
“I think we lost a few points today, we get one, but we stay focused,” said Pogba. MUTV.
“Obviously we’re happy we didn’t lose and we get this point with positivity, but we know this game, I think at the end of the season those two points are going to be very important.
“So we didn’t lose, we got a point and the next away game we know those points will be very important for us and we don’t want to give them away.”

United’s success is a difficult thing to judge this season. Eight years with no real title challenge brought fans back to earth after the heyday of the Sir Alex Ferguson era.
Taking the example of Liverpool, they ran Manchester City closely in 2018/2019 before winning the league the following season, so perhaps this United campaign can take a similar step by still being on the hunt in April or May. .
Pogba appears to have taken an alternative view, however, telling club media that the club’s goal this year is the Premier League title.
Asked whether United had equaled Arsenal’s record of 27 away Premier League games unbeaten, Pogba replied: “It’s always great, but I’d rather win the league and not have the record.
“It’s good, it’s positive, the next time we want to have a record is to win away – that would be the best and not to draw when we know we can win these games, the same with a white sheet. We learn from it, stay positive and go back.

Man United have been busy this summer.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has always made sure to assuage the club’s expectations, but with new major signings like Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho now on board, the club may be aiming a little higher this season, a goal that seems to be reflected in Pogba’s interview.
The squad is still not perfect (we’ll get into that in detail here) but with eight days remaining in the transfer window, there’s still time to add a piece or two to the puzzle.
