More than a hundred countries around the world celebrate World Music Day June 21 every year. Originally launched in France in 1982 to celebrate summer, it honors amateur and professional musicians and encourage everyone to enjoy and play music.
In the pre-COVID era, free performances were held in several parks, indoor spaces and even street corners. This year, most of the performances are taking place online due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the spirit of the music will continue and triumph.
