From KNBC TV (Los Angeles):
Big-box, home-improvement stores in Los Angeles will have to set aside space for day laborers under an ordinance passed by the City Council on Wednesday.
When the ordinance takes effect — the mayor has to sign it, and most city laws take effect 30 days afterward — it will apply to stores [...]

From azcentral.com:
The question of whether to give driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants ignited a national debate in the United States. But in Mexico, the largest source of U.S. immigrants, there’s no question: Here, you must be a legal resident to get a driver’s license.
All of Mexico’s 31 states, along with Mexico City, require foreigners to [...]

From The Aspen Times:
By voting this bill down or substituting an “enforcement-only” bill as an amendment, you could prevent the destruction of our great nation. You can save our language, culture and American way of life for future generations.
Passage of the Kennedy-Bush amnesty could cause many elected officials to be voted out of office. But, [...]

From The Aspen Times:
This bill was conceived, in secret, by a dozen open-border advocates without even the benefit of the committee process. Like all the failures of the past, it creates the illusion that it will accomplish both enforcement and amnesty simultaneously, while its true purpose is amnesty for uncounted tens of millions.
The real solution [...]

From The Aspen Times:
Have you reviewed the statistics concerning the behavior of the illegal aliens who are here already? It might give you a good idea of about who you are planning to let in.
Specifically, have you read the crime statistics: the number of felons per 1,000 illegal aliens; the number of pedophiles, rapists, drunken [...]

From The Aspen Times:
First of all, according to U.S .Border Control (www.usbc.org), which has done exhaustive research, it’s 20 million illegal aliens, not 12 million.
And, it appears that this bill would allow these 20 million to bring in their immediate family members – parents, children, brothers and sisters, and, of course, a spouse. This means [...]

Well, they DO stimulate the economy in these ways:
Immigration from 1925-1965 averaged 178,000 per year. As of 2003, we’re taking in approximately 1.1 million legal immigrants & up to 700,000 illegal aliens annually. In 2004, the Border Patrol estimates that 3 million illegal aliens entered the U.S.
Currently, we have 294 million people, but [...]

The Immigration Reform Act Of 2007. Belch.
The bipartisan immigration “reform” legislation pushed by Sens. Edward M. Kennedy and Jon Kyl and others, applauded by Michael Chertoff, the secretary of Homeland Security, and Carlos Gutierrez, the secretary of Commerce, is an amnesty disaster in the making.
What is a good definition of amnesty? Pardoning lawbreakers [...]

The Immigration Reform Act Of 2007. Belch.
This hideous piece of legislation has nothing to do with immigration reform. It is amnesty, vote buying, and pandering, and nothing more.
This is all about the rule of law. Do our elected officials enforce our laws or don’t they? Every single one of these people who crossed [...]

We should scrap this “comprehensive” immigration bill and the whole debate until the government can show the American people that we have secured the borders. That would give proponents of the bill a chance to explain why putting illegals in a more favorable position than those who play by the rules is not really amnesty.
