Duhuk, Jun 17, (VOI) – A group of persons accidentally found a 100-year-old rare animal, according to deputy rector of Duhuk University for scientific affairs on Tuesday.

“The animal, found accidentally this week in Bajiel region in Aqra district, western Duhuk, is unlike any other animal. It feeds on reptiles and bugs,” Hassan Amin told Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq – (VOI).

“After watching the short movie made by a group of ordinary persons, we can say that the extinct animal is more than 100 years-old and is related to the Dragon family,” Amin explained.

“We have discussed the issue with two specialized centers in Germany and Britain to know more details about this animal, which was discovered in the country for the first time,” he noted.

Duhuk is located 460 km north of Baghdad.

Two mentally retarded women strapped with remote-control explosives—and possibly used as unwitting suicide bombers—brought carnage Friday to two pet bazaars, killing at 73 people in the deadliest day since Washington flooded the capital with extra troops last spring.

The coordinated blasts—coming 20 minutes apart in different parts of the city—appeared to reinforce U.S. claims al-Qaida in Iraq may be increasingly desperate and running short of able-bodied men willing or available for such missions.

Brig. Gen. Qassim al-Moussawi, Iraq’s chief military spokesman in Baghdad, said the women had Down syndrome and may not have known they were on suicide missions. He said the bombs were detonated by remote control.

Al Qaeda is using retarded women, women that possibly didn’t even know they were carrying bombs, to blow up markets filled with innocent people.

There is a line between being committed and using all available resources to advance your cause and being completely devoid of compassion and soul. Whoever did this, whoever planned this, whoever knew of this, whoever excuses this, is a sub-human deserving only of violent and painful death. I would have no problems whatsoever ordering a nuclear strike on their homes. I would not flinch in dropping chemical or biological munitions on their hideouts. Three suspected al Qaeda militants, including two sisters, beheaded their uncle and his wife, forcing the couple’s children to watch, Iraqi police said on Friday.

The militants considered that school guard Youssef al-Hayali was an infidel because he did not pray and wore western-style trousers, they told police interrogators after being arrested in Diyala province northwest of Baghdad.

The three cousins executed Hayali and his wife Zeinab Kamel at the all-boys school in Jalawlah in Diyala province, village police chief Captain Ahmed Khalifa said.

During the week of October 22-26, 2007, the nation will be rocked by the biggest conservative campus protest ever – Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, a wake-up call for Americans on 200 university and college campuses.

The purpose of this protest is as simple as it is crucial: to confront the two Big Lies of the political left: that George Bush created the war on terror and that Global Warming is a greater danger to Americans than the terrorist threat. Nothing could be more politically incorrect than to point this out. But nothing could be more important for American students to hear.

In the face of the greatest danger Americans have ever confronted, the academic left has mobilized to create sympathy for the enemy and to fight anyone who rallies Americans to defend themselves. According to the academic left, anyone who links Islamic radicalism to the war on terror is an “Islamophobe.” According to the academic left, the Islamo-fascists hate us not because we are tolerant and free, but because we are “oppressors.”

The LONG TERM goal of jihad is world domination – a global Islamic state under Islamic law. Jihad is not, as some Western apologists claim, simply a striving for individual perfection. Rather, jihad is an expansionist totalitarian ideology that seeks to establish a global Islamic state ruled by Islamic law, or sharia. Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden’s chief henchman said in the summer of 2006: “Jihad seeks the liberation of Palestine, the entire country of Palestine and to liberate every land that used to be a territory of Islam, from Spain to Iraq.”

The jihad’s IMMEDIATE Objective is “Death to America.” “America,” declared Al-Qaeda spokesman Suleiman Abu Gheith, “is the head of heresy in our modern world, and [as a result] . . . we have the right to kill 4 million Americans — 2 million of them children — and to exile twice as many and wound and cripple hundreds of thousands. Furthermore, it is our right to fight them with chemical and biological weapons.” The Saudi Sheikh Nasser ibn Hamed gives an even higher figure for appropriate American deaths: “If a bomb was dropped on them [i.e. the Americans] that would annihilate 10 million and burn their lands to the same extent that they burned the Muslim lands – this is permissible….”

The ideology of the Islamists whose ranks today include not only al-Qaeda but also Hamas and Hezbollah – originated with Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood (al-Ikhwan al-Muslimoon) founded in 1928 by Sheikh Hassan al-Banna. And the Muslim Brotherhood finds not just its roots, but much of its symbolism, terminology, and political priorities deep within the heart of Nazi fascism.

The long legacy of Arab and Palestinian Nazism, and the Hitlerite themes of lebensraum, ethnic cleansing and genocide, continue to echo in the Middle East today. Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Hezbollah, said of the Jews after the Lebanon war of 2006: “If they gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them nationwide.” Mahmoud Zahar, Hamas Foreign Minister, says: “I dream of hanging a huge map of the world on the wall at my Gaza home which does not show Israel on it.” And most chillingly, Ali Akabar Hashemi Rafsanjani, former President of Iran, looks ahead to the next holocaust and final solution: “The use of a nuclear bomb in Israel will leave nothing on the ground, whereas it will only damage the world of Islam.”

Witnesses reported seeing people jumping from the towers just before they collapsed.

1800 EDT – Iraq announces the attacks are the fruit of “U.S. crimes against humanity” in an official announcement on state television.

2030 EDT – President Bush addresses the nation, saying “thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil” and asks for prayers for the families and friends of Tuesday’s victims. “These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve,” he says. I’ve personally fired quite a number of bullets in my time and I can say, with some authority, that these bullets are the most amazing I’ve ever seen. I’ve never had bullet keep it’s casing, primer, and gunpowder AFTER it’s been fired. Those are still pristine, still in their shells.

Where can I get one of these reusable bullets? And that has got to be some really cool rifle that can hurl a projectile through a concrete wall at 2000 feet per second and not even get a dent in the bullet.

The rounds that everyone uses today, and since the late 1800′s, are a combination of a projectile (the bullet), a propellant (gunpowder, for example) and a primer (the explosive cap), all contained in one metal package. A firing pin hits the primer which sets off a small explosion. This explosion ignites the propellant and creates a lot of hot gas. This gas pushes the bullet down the barrel of the gun very rapidly.

But this “elderly Iraqi woman” is holding complete rounds that could only have “hit” her home if someone opened a box of them and threw them at her. And look at the shine on those rounds; they’ve never even been around a firearm.

I can just hear Obama on the campaign trail now: “We have to stop hand-tossing unspent rounds into civilian homes!”

The photo is from Agence France Presse, a “news” clearinghouse that has no love for the US or the current conflict in Iraq. Looks more like they’re trying to create a story rather than report on one. And the photographer, Wissam al-Okaili, has been known to fabricate more than a few photos for the purpose of showing how “evil” the war in Iraq is.

Eight people arrested in connection with failed car bombings in Glasgow and London all have links with the National Health Service, the BBC has learned.

Seven are believed to be doctors or medical students, while one formerly worked as a laboratory technician.

And then from CBS:

British intelligence services increasingly believe that the failed car bombings in London and Glasgow bare the fingerprints of al Qaeda in Iraq.

Intelligence sources tell CBS News that the people behind the attempts were directly recruited by Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, the present leader of the terror group’s Iraq franchise.

Police investigating the plot had arrested eight people Tuesday, including at least six suspects trained as doctors, including a man of Indian nationality arrested in Australia.

Sources tell CBS News that al-Muhajir recruited people for the plot between 2004 and 2005, while they were living in the Middle East, upon orders from then-al Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Al-Muhajir was told to recruit young men who could easily move into Western countries, assimilate and lay low until the time came to attack. Britain has a fast-track visa program for medical students which makes it easier for them to enter the country.

And let’s end with an interview at the UK Daily Mail of former radical Islamist Hassan Butt:

When I was still a member of what is probably best termed the British Jihadi Network – a series of British Muslim terrorist groups linked by a single ideology – I remember how we used to laugh in celebration whenever people on TV proclaimed that the sole cause for Islamic acts of terror like 9/11, the Madrid bombings and 7/7 was Western foreign policy.

By blaming the Government for our actions, those who pushed this “Blair’s bombs” line did our propaganda work for us.

More important, they also helped to draw away any critical examination from the real engine of our violence: Islamic theology.

And though many British extremists are angered by the deaths of fellow Muslim across the world, what drove me and many others to plot acts of extreme terror within Britain and abroad was a sense that we were fighting for the creation of a revolutionary worldwide Islamic state that would dispense Islamic justice.

If we were interested in justice, you may ask, how did this continuing violence come to be the means of promoting such a (flawed) Utopian goal?

How do Islamic radicals justify such terror in the name of their religion?

There isn’t enough room to outline everything here, but the foundation of extremist reasoning rests upon a model of the world in which you are either a believer or an infidel.

Formal Islamic theology, unlike Christian theology, does not allow for the separation of state and religion: they are considered to be one and the same.

For centuries, the reasoning of Islamic jurists has set down rules of interaction between Dar ul-Islam (the Land of Islam) and Dar ul-Kufr (the Land of Unbelief) to cover almost every matter of trade, peace and war.

But what radicals and extremists do is to take this two steps further. Their first step has been to argue that, since there is no pure Islamic state, the whole world must be Dar ul-Kufr (The Land of Unbelief).

Step two: since Islam must declare war on unbelief, they have declared war upon the whole world.

And STILL there are millions that gladly recite the Liberal drivel of this being Bush’s Illegal War, yet this is so much more that either Bush or Iraq. This is simply Chapter One of a long epic.

During Sunday night’s Democratic presidential debate, the candidates cited an oft-repeated source of the mess in Iraq: The White House’s refusal to heed knowledgeable advice.

But what if today these groups were actually advising against an American withdrawal?

• Consider Brent Scowcroft, dean of the Realist School, who openly opposed the war from the outset and was a lead skeptic of the president’s democracy-building agenda. In a recent Financial Times interview, he succinctly summed up the implication of withdrawal: “The costs of staying are visible; the costs of getting out are almost never discussed. If we get out before Iraq is stable, the entire Middle East region might start to resemble Iraq today. Getting out is not a solution.”
• And here is retired Marine Gen. Anthony Zinni, former Centcom Commander and a vociferous critic of the what he sees as the administration’s naive and one-sided policy in Iraq and the broader Middle East: “When we are in Iraq we are in many ways containing the violence. If we back off we give it more room to breathe, and it may metastasize in some way and become a regional problem. We don’t have to be there at the same force level, but it is a five- to seven-year process to get any reasonable stability in Iraq.”
• A senior Gulf Cooperation Council official told me that “If America leaves Iraq, America will have to return. Soon. It will not be a clean break. It will not be a permanent goodbye. And by the time America returns, we will have all been drawn in. America will have to stabilize more than just Iraq. The warfare will have spread to other countries, governments will be overthrown. America’s military is barely holding on in Iraq today. How will it stabilize ‘Iraq Plus’?” (Iraq Plus is the term that some leaders in Arab capitals use to describe the region following a U.S. withdrawal.)
• “If such a rapid withdrawal were to take place, we judge that the Iraqi Security Forces would be unlikely to survive as a non-sectarian national institution: neighboring countries–invited by Iraqi factions or unilaterally–might intervene openly in the conflict; massive civilian casualties and forced population displacement would be probable; al Qaida in Iraq would attempt to use parts of the country–particularly al-Anbar province–to plan increased attacks in and outside of Iraq; and spiraling violence and disarray in Iraq, along with Kurdish moves to control Kirkuk and strengthen autonomy, could prompt Turkey to launch a military incursion.”

If the Realists, neighboring Arab regimes, our intelligence community and some of the most knowledgeable reporters all say such a course could be disastrous, on what basis are the withdrawal advocates taking their position?

The American people are understandably frustrated with Iraq. But this does not mean they will be satisfied with politicians who support a path that could make matters much worse.

American soldiers discovered a girls school being built north of Baghdad had become an explosives-rigged “death trap,” the U.S. military said Thursday.

The plot at the Huda Girls’ school in Tarmiya was a “sophisticated and premeditated attempt to inflict massive casualties on our most innocent victims,” military spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell said.

The plot was uncovered Saturday [ed: April 28], when troopers in the Salaheddin province found detonating wire across the street from the school. They picked up the wire and followed its trail, which led to the school. Once inside, they found an explosive-filled propane tank buried beneath the floor. There were artillery shells built into the ceiling and floor, and another propane tank was found, the military said.

The wire was concealed with mortar and concrete, and the propane tanks had been covered with brick and hidden underneath the floor, according to a military statement. Soldiers were able to clear the building.

“It was truly just an incredibly ugly, dirty kind of vicious killing that would have gone on here,” Caldwell said.

Iraqi contractors were responsible for building the school, which was intended to bring in hundreds of girls.

“Given the care and work put into emplacing this IED, it is likely it had been planned for a long time” and it is thought that “the IED was not intended to be set off until the building was occupied,” the military said.

Russell Defreitas, a U.S. citizen native to Guyana and retired airport employee was the mastermind behind a plot to destroy John F. Kennedy International Airport, kill thousands of people and trigger an economic catastrophe by blowing up a jet fuel artery that runs through populous residential neighborhoods, authorities said Saturday.

Defreitas developed his hatred for America a decade ago while working as a cargo handler at JFK airport. While working at the airport, he said he saw military parts being shipped to Israel that he thought would be used to kill Muslims. Last August, he began planning an attack along with three other Muslim men, one of which was an FBI informant.

“Anytime you hit Kennedy, it is the most hurtful thing to the United States,” Defreitas said on a recording made by a police informant. “They love John F. Kennedy like he’s the man … It’s like you can kill the man twice.”

The men tried to reach out to a Trinidadian radical Muslim group, Jamaat al Muslimeen, which launched an unsuccessful rebellion in 1990 that left 24 dead, according to the indictment.

Two other men, Abdul Kadir of Guyana and Kareem Ibrahim of Trinidad, were in custody in Trinidad. A fourth man, Abdel Nur of Guyana, was still being sought in Trinidad.

Kadir, a former member of Parliament in Guyana, was arrested in Trinidad for attempting to secure money for “terrorist operations.”

Isha Kadir, the Guyanese suspect’s wife, said her husband flew from Guyana to Trinidad on Thursday. She said he was arrested Friday as he was boarding a flight from Trinidad to Venezuela, where he planned to pick up a travel visa to attend an Islamic religious conference in Iran.

The fact that plotters conspired to plan an attack on John F. Kennedy Airport is another reminder that in today’s world we face constant threats from people who want to take away our freedoms and destroy our way of life.

Another Face Of Evil© is John Murtha. It seems that Representative John Murtha (D-Pa.) says homegrown terrorist plots like the alleged plan to bomb fuel pipelines at John F. Kennedy International Airport are provoked by the U.S. presence in Iraq. “Our presence in Iraq, our occupation of Iraq gives these people the inspiration.” According to him is is not the fault of those that would have blown up JFK airport and the surrounding neighborhoods, but rather the fault of President Bush and his administration. It is the US that is providing the “inspiration”, not the Quran or a clan of crazy muftis. Murtha has no credibility on any issue. He represents the very “culture of corruption” that the Democrats claimed they would extinguish. He is a modern day Aaron Burr who cares more about how politics will benefit him personally than how it will effect Americans or other citizens of the world. Just one more fool trying to rationalize their cowardice.
