Notice the big screen TV? Probably cost a couple thousand dollars.

Notice the Xbox game system? That plus the games probably cost a couple hundred dollars.

Apparently Ms. Kelly can afford to buy big screen TVs and video game systems, but since she spent all her money on those trinkets she now wants you and I to pay her electric bills … because that TV and gaming system require large amounts of electricity.

Says Neal Boortz: “Are you seeing my point here, folks? I am just so sick to damn death of these entitlement whores, these moochers who believe that the money that you worked for somehow belongs to them.”

Ayn Rand, in “Atlas Shrugged”, described the American population as composed of three classes:

- “Moochers” demand others’ earnings on behalf of the needy and those unable/unwilling to earn themselves, however, they curse the producers who make that help possible and are jealous and resentful of the talented on whom they depend.
- “Looters” confiscate others’ earnings by force (“at the point of a gun”) and include government officials, whose demands are backed by the implicit threat of force. The looters are proponents of high taxation, big labor, government ownership, government spending, government planning, regulation, and redistribution.
- “Producers” actually produce the goods and/or services that the rest of the population wants.

We really need to turn around this attitude of so many people that they honestly believe something you own is somehow “owed” to them because of reasons only they are able to define. We also need to make unemployed all the professional politicians that enable, empower, and pander to this class of person.

Many of the wonderful-sounding ideas that have been tried as government policies have failed disastrously. Because so few people bother to study history, often the same ideas and policies have been tried again, either in another country or in the same country at a later time — and with the same disastrous results.

One of the ideas that has proved to be almost impervious to evidence is the idea that wise and far-sighted people need to take control and plan economic and social policies so there will be a rational and just order, rather than chaos resulting from things being allowed to take their own course.

It sounds so logical and plausible that demanding hard evidence would seem almost like nit-picking.

In one form or another, this idea goes back at least as far as the French Revolution in the 18th century. As J.A. Schumpeter later wrote of that era, “general well-being ought to have been the consequence,” but “instead we find misery, shame and, at the end of it all, a stream of blood.”

The same could be said of the Bolshevik Revolution and other revolutions of the 20th century.

The idea that the wise and knowledgeable few need to take control of the less wise and less knowledgeable many has taken milder forms — and repeatedly with bad results as well.

They have passed the health bill, they have passed the financial regulations bill and they have snuck stuff into the stimulus package bills. They are going to track your money and your body. Here’s the first few things they are doing. This is step one. It will only get worse from here.

“…the Health Care Bill mandates, according to Numismaster.com, Starting on January 1st in 2012, S federal law will require coin and bullion dealers to report to the Internal Revenue Service all gold and silver coin purchases and sales greater than $600.”

So hidden within ObamaCare, the legislation that no one read before signing, had hidden within it a new law saying that anyone who buys or sells more than $600 worth of gold or silver has to report the transaction to the federal government.

Why would the government have a reason to know, and record, such information?

Why was this snuck into health care legislation?

Anyone remember Executive Order 6102 signed on April 5, 1933 by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt “forbidding the Hoarding of Gold Coin, Gold Bullion, and Gold Certificates” by U.S. citizens? Wake up, this is what has happened in the past and it looks like it’s happening again. The federal government does not want you to have any wealth (or security) in precious metals, only the almighty Federal Reserve Note, that way when the country goes bankrupt so will you. Or, in other words, you now become completely financially dependent on the US government.

Do I file this under Hope And Change or Transparancy? Or Socialism?

The pediatrician and Harvard University professor President Obama appointed Wednesday to run Medicare and Medicaid will play a central role in implementing the nation’s new health care law, predecessors and outside experts said.

Donald Berwick, who Obama named to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, drew praise from top medical groups, including the American Medical Association, but Republicans criticized the administration’s decision to use a recess appointment to bypass the Senate confirmation process.

Though the agency is little known outside the medical industry it controls an annual budget of more than $800 billion and oversees two health programs — Medicare for seniors and Medicaid for the poor — with more than 90 million enrollees.

“Everything he does every day has an impact on every doctor, every hospital and every patient in the country,” said Thomas Scully, who ran the agency from 2001 to 2004.

So who is this Donald Berwick fellow?

He has also praised the UK’s National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), which he said had “developed very good and very disciplined, scientifically grounded, policy-connected models for the evaluation of medical treatments from which we ought to learn.”

Said Berwick, “You can say, ‘Well, we shouldn’t even look.’ But that would be irrational. The social budget is limited — we have a limited resource pool. It makes terribly good sense to at least know the price of an added benefit, and at some point we might say nationally, regionally, or locally that we wish we could afford it, but we can’t. We have to be realistic about the knowledge base.”

Oh great. Not “if” the government is going to ration health care, but “when”. After all, just look at how well the UK’s socialized medicine rations their health care.

In 2008 while speaking on the British health care system in the UK, Berwick said wealthy individuals must redistribute their wealth to those less fortunate for health care funding. Also during this speech, he told those in attendance that he opposes free markets.

“Any health care funding plan that is just equitable civilized and humane must, must redistribute wealth from the richer among us to the poorer and the less fortunate. Excellent health care is by definition redistributional.”

Wonderful. A federal government czar that’s nothing more than a Socialist wanna-be. You can only have excellent health care if you take money out of someone’s wallet and give it to someone else?

Says Grace-Marie Turner at National Review:

President Obama is making a huge end-run around the American people with his recess appointment of Dr. Donald Berwick.

“This recess appointment is an insult to the American people,” said Sen. John Barrasso (R., Wyo.), a physician and leading Berwick opponent. “Dr. Berwick is a self professed supporter of rationing health care, and he won’t even have to explain his views to the American people in a hearing. Once again, President Obama has made a mockery of his pledge to be accountable and transparent.” Berwick will have authority over an agency with the largest single budget in the entire U.S. government and over implementation of the most sweeping legislative overhaul of our health sector ever — without so much as a congressional hearing!

But why did Comrade Obama make this a recess appointment in the first place? Congress is only on an 11-day recess. There is no emergency reason why he had to be appointed now, without waiting 11 days for Congress to come back. All presidents make these recess appointments, but there is usually a strong pressing need to do it at that particular time. Says ABC News:

The April nomination of Berwick — president and chief executive officer of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement — was in trouble and might not have been able to meet Senate confirmation due to comments Berwick made in the past about rationing health care. Even if Berwick could have been confirmed by the Senate, Democrats have little appetite for another round of fighting about changes to the health care system, Democrats said.

WTF?

Obama snuck this guy in under the cover of darkness because even his own Democrats weren’t happy with this neo-Socialist. Not only is Obama trying his best to “rebuild America” against the will of the Republicans, and against the will of the average Americans, but also against the will of many in his own political party.

Just damn, that really says a ton about Obama … the new Enemy Of The People. Folks, you have 116 days to shut his machine down for good.

Folks…. Issues are for the states, not for Washington. As soon as we allow the federal government to skip over the question, “Should we do something?” directly to the question, “What should we do?”, on an issue for which there is no Constitutional authority, we have lost important ground, even if we think we have won the debate over what to do. In Washington, *the issue* is the Constitution. They shouldn’t start talking about “what to do” until after they have first demonstrated that the Constitution authorizes them to do something. For too long, we’ve been allowing our politicians to skip over this vital first step!

In the name of oh so many diversionary issues, a stealthy Cold War is being waged by the power brokers against people who are so busy trying to make ends meet that they barely even notice.

And folks wonder why I don’t trust the government.

Paychecks from private business shrank to their smallest share of personal income in U.S. history during the first quarter of this year, a USA TODAY analysis of government data finds.

At the same time, government-provided benefits — from Social Security, unemployment insurance, food stamps and other programs — rose to a record high during the first three months of 2010.

Those records reflect a long-term trend accelerated by the recession and the federal stimulus program to counteract the downturn. The result is a major shift in the source of personal income from private wages to government programs.

Bottom line: More and more Americans are becoming more and more dependent on the government for an income, and not on their actual jobs. And every penny of all the government money comes from the wallet of someone that earned an income from a job.

If this doesn’t scare you then you deserve whatever happens to you.
