Says The Washington Post:
The House Republicans’ top campaign chief strongly denounced Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s comments that appeared to question whether today’s angry conservative protests were similar to anti-gay rallies in the late 1970s that preceded the assassination of two San Francisco political leaders.
Rep. Pete Sessions (Texas), chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, said Pelosi crossed the line when she related the rhetoric of anti-gay protesters in San Francisco in 1978 — the year Harvey Milk, the first openly gay member of the city’s board of supervisors, and his political ally, Mayor George Moscone, were killed by former supervisor Dan White — to that of contemporary conservatives while answering a question about the protests against President Obama’s health-care proposals.
“The Speaker is now likening genuine opposition to assassination. Such insulting rhetoric not only undermines the credibility of her office, but it underscores the desperate attempt by her party to divert attention away from a failing agenda,” Sessions said in a statement. “During one of the most important policy debates of our time, the American people have been completely abandoned by those elected representatives under her control. Voters are justifiably frustrated with Washington, and the Speaker’s verbal assault on voters accomplishes nothing other than furthering her reputation for being wildly out of touch with the American people.”
Yep. According to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, those that do not blindly support what Congressional Democrats and President Obama are trying to do to America with their political agenda are similar to those persons that would commit assassinations of political leaders. Just damn.
Said Pelosi:
Well, I think we all have to take responsibility for our actions and our words. We are a free country, and this balance between freedom and safety is one that we have to carefully balance. I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw this, myself, in the late ’70s in San Francisco. This kind of rhetoric was very frightening, and it created a climate in which violence took place. So I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made, so that understanding that some of the people — the ears that it is falling on are not as balanced as the person making the statement might assume.
Huh? Vocal opposition to Obama is frightening? Voters raising their voices at town hall meetings create a climate in which violence takes place? Those that attended recent Tea Parties are not balanced?
I cannot help but believe that all this violence Pelosi is imagining is not a prediction of what Conservatives might do, but rather a projection of what she, herself, could be driven to do.
And don’t forget that President Obama’s campaign organization, Organizing for America, sent out a notice to their supporters stating:
Our US Senators return to DC the Tues after Labor Day. That next FRIDAY, Sep 11, is Patriot Day, designated in memory of the nearly three thousand who died in the 9/11 attacks.
All 50 States are coordinating in this – as we fight back against our own Right-Wing Domestic Terrorists who are subverting the American Democratic Process, whipped to a frenzy by their Fox Propaganda Network ceaselessly re-seizing power for their treacherous leaders.
So those that do not agree with Obama’s vision of America are, according to Organizing for America, “Right-Wing Domestic Terrorists” that are “subverting the American Democratic Process”. Folks, this statement came from Obama’s own people. Just damn.
Former President Jimmy Carter, appearing more mentally feeble each day, said that those that oppose Obama’s policies are nothing more that racists. According to Carter you either openly embrace Obama and his beliefs or you’re a racist. Just damn.
Organizing for America has also referred to those that do not agree with Obama’s agenda as “heirs of, YES: bin Laden”, “Misguided citizens”, people that blindly follow “the dogma of their religion”, “on a Bullet-Train to the Devil”, and people that are “being spoon-fed to them by their FALSE PROPHETS”.
With Obama’s poll numbers dropping like a rock the Loony Left appear to be in the middle of a mental and emotional breakdown. Any violence is far more likely to come from the Left than anyone on the Right.
Which is why I’m continuing to purchase ammunition.
