Former President Jimmy Carter said Tuesday that racial politics played a role in South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson‘s outburst during President Obama‘s speech to Congress last week and in some of the opposition the president has faced since taking office.
“I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he’s African-American,” Carter told “NBC Nightly News.
He grouped Wilson’s shout of “You lie!” during Obama’s speech in that category, according to AP. “I think it’s based on racism. There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president,” he said.
Carter’s words do not explain what happened that day in Congress. Carter’s words only show what an idiot, and removed from reality, Carter has become.
This is an important issue, for it illuminates exactly why the Obama’s poll numbers are falling like a rock, and why the Democrats are in danger of being voted out of office in 2010. The Left just cannot understand, not accept, that the problem between the Obama administration and Joe Sixpack is not race, but rather that the general public does not like what Obama is saying in his speeches and does not like the direction he is trying to move the country.
Obama is not a black President – he is a red President (as in Communist/Socialist). Obama’s race is not an issue, but his philosophy of a huge central government and the burden on the taxpayers is exactly the issue. The color of Obama’s skin is not a problem, but him taking away my freedoms and my income is a problem.
The Left simply cannot fathom how anyone could ever disagree with Obama’s Neo-Euro-Socialist Big Government Kum Bah Yah beliefs, so they use the red herring of “you be hatin’ his blackness, you redneck.” The Left believes that the general public is a bunch of inbred neanderthals in dire need of complete supervision and control, but what is emerging (as seen in the poll numbers) is that the general public is moving beyond simple aggravation with Congress and the Presidency and starting to distrust and fear them, a situation that does not bode well for anyone.
The easy solution is to vote as many of them out of office in 2010 as we possibly can. The other option will be The Second American Revolution.
