Don't forgot about folks of the liberal, and Democrat persuasion, too. Certainly we all know that the Democrats and their fellows in crime prefer unarmed citizens. What better way to control the population other than disarm them. History has shown that an unarmed population is rife for victimization by corrupt governments and criminals alike. Whereas an armed population can defend against these threats. What would the Founding Fathers think if they saw all that they worked, and died for being destroyed by another set of terrified politicians, kings? All of whom live in their well guarded palaces whilst the "pee-ons" get to eat cake, and don't forget die too! What will history make of a government or society, so corrupted, that even the God given right of self-defense is turned into a crime!
