The Normandy Landings were the first operations of the Allied invasion of Normandy, also known as Operation Neptune and Operation Overlord, during World War II. The landings commenced on June 6, 1944 (D-Day).
By the end of 11 June, 326,547 troops, 54,186 vehicles and 104,428 tons of supplies had been landed on the beaches.
The Allied casualties figures for D-Day have generally been estimated at 10,000, including 2500 dead. The total German casualties on D-Day are not known, but are estimated as being between 4000 and 9000 men.
On this day the Allied forces began to turn the table on the war, taking the battle straight to the enemy in a devastating way.
The enemy was a government system based on government control of the individual, one of little personal freedom and responsibility, one where the government both commanded and rewarded the individual based on how much they supported the government.
In 1944 America gladly volunteered, and spilled a great deal of blood, to conquer such a terrible government. Today we have demanded, and installed, the same terrible style of government. Today we are asking for more and more cradle-to-grave support from the government, and with that comes both un-natural reliance on the government but also control of the individual by the government. Today we exclaim that there is no Right or Wrong, and that every crime must be discussed “in context” of the perpetrator’s life, the same way the Nazi apologists forgave those than operated the gas chambers. Today we hold abortion as a natural right, just as those doctors and scientists in Germany “removed” the mentally and physically ill from their population. Today the masses are demanding the disarming of law-abiding citizens, just like what was done to Germany’s citizens as Hitler came into power.
My, how the mighty have fallen.
My question is, would those brave soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen today need to retake France from the Germans, or retake the United States from our current government?

As much of the country and the world remembers the HUGE sacrifices made 65 years ago on D-Day…Google celebrates 25 years of a block dropping video game. Not that I don’t love Tetris as much as the next child of the 80’s, but what an absolute insult to the 2,700 British, 946 Canadians and 6,603 Americans that gave their lives that day…
Downplaying it is bad enough, but honoring a GAME in its stead?!
