From the UK Guardian News:
Hillary Clinton plans to accept the job of secretary of state offered by Barack Obama, who is reaching out to former rivals to build a broad coalition administration, the Guardian has learned.
Clinton would be well placed to become the country’s dominant voice in foreign affairs, replacing Condoleezza Rice.
The Secretary of State represents the US to the entire world. That person shapes foreign affairs. That person should have intimate trust and faith in the President, and vice versa.
So far the majority of appointments in the Obama administration are former Clinton administration folks. The “change you can believe in” is shaping up to be nothing more than Clinton 2.0 (which is still far better than Carter 2.0).
Venezuela and Iran are becoming buddies. Hamas continues to fire rockets into Israel. Russia is back to their old bullying ways. China continues to oppress its own people. Somali pirates are causing havoc on the open seas. And Hillary is going to be the go-to person?
Aren’t the next four years going to be just peachy?
