The Future Direction Of The Big O?

Obama says his health care plan will garner large savings – $120 billion a year, or $2,500 per family – with more than half coming from the use of electronic health records. And he says he’ll make that happen in his first term.

BS. Such claims are grossly optimistic, misleading and, to some extent, contradicted by one of his own advisers. But the real crime is that these claims mask the true cost of his plan to cover millions of Americans who now have no health insurance - and guess who will be paying for that?

Obama recently released a TV advertisement saying McCain’s campaign got $2 million from “Big Oil” while McCain proposed “another $4 billion in tax breaks” for the industry.

BS. Oil companies themselves don’t make donations. It’s illegal under federal law for corporations to donate directly to candidates and has been since 1918. McCain’s campaign has received $1.33 million from individuals employed in the oil and gas industry, not $2 million. Obama himself has received nearly $400,000. McCain is proposing a general reduction in the corporate income tax rate, and the oil and gas industry would benefit just as much as transportation, pharmaceuticals, and entertainment.
