STEP 1: As of April 23 there was a web page at the official Obama campaign site. It featured Hatem El-Hady as a “friend” (read: fundraiser) for Obama. Also on that page was a notation that one of El-Hady’s friends is none other than Michelle Obama.
STEP 2: As of April 25 the page had been edited to remove Michelle Obama’s name as a friend of El-Hady.
STEP 3: As of later in the morning of April 25 El-Hady’s entire page has disappeared.
How odd, don’t you think?
So who is this Hatem El-Hady? El-Hady is the former chairman of the Toledo-based Islamic charity “Kind Hearts for Charitable Human Development”. This “charity” was actually a front for funneling funds to Hamas and other Middle East terrorists groups, their US assets having been frozen by the US Treasury for terrorist ties.
So what we have is the leader of a fake charity, one whose real purpose was to sneak away US dollars to support Hamas, a US-designated terrorist organization, and is also a favorite fundraiser for the Obama campaign, and a friend of Michelle Obama.

When Illinois State Senator Alice Palmer decided to retire in 1995, she hand-picked local left-winger Barack Obama as her successor. In order to introduce Obama to influential liberals in the district, she held a function at the home of Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. This was, really, the beginning of Obama’s political career, and it linked him forever with Ayers and Dohrn, with whom, as his campaign has acknowledged, he continues to have a friendly relationship.
Ayers and Dohrn were famous radicals, and fugitives from the law, in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Dohrn, actually, was the more famous of the two; she was the head, as I recall, of Students for a Democratic Society or one of its factions. Dohrn was crazy. She is the only public figure, to my knowledge, to approve publicly and enthusiastically of the Charles Manson murders.
Ayers was a would-be murderer of soldiers and policemen, but he wasn’t a very good terrorist. He had the ill fortune to be the subject of a profile in the New York Times on September 11, 2001, in which he said that he didn’t regret his attempted murders and only wished that he had planted more bombs.

SUMMARY: Maybe a politician can’t pick his relatives, but he can choose those who host fundraisers on his behalf and those he surrounds himself with. Barack Obama owes the American people an explanation of his choice of friends and political associates.

Actually, the US designates Islamic charitable organizations as “terrorist fund raisers” all the time — but because of a Kafkaesque circular logic, doesn’t actually bring them to court and doesn’t allow them to see the evidence against them, stating they’re “state secrets.” The few that have gone to trial the government failed to convict most of them. That’s because “terrorist links” are established using the “Kevin Bacon” six degrees of separation — if an Islamic group donates to a middle eastern organization even remotely affiliated with a terrorist group, then they’re automatically designated. Given this, it would be almost impossible for you or me to send aid money to someone in somewhere like Iran without establishing some kind of “terrorist link.”
So given this, the fact that you’re asserting that El-Hady is a terrorist is rather silly since no evidence is brought forth to prove these terrorist fund raiser designations. See this excellent New Yorker piece to really get an in-depth understanding of the issue.
