Savior-of-the-universe Barack Obama gave a speech where he made an attempt to explain the resentment in small-town Pennsylvania that won’t be appreciated by some of the people whose votes Obama’s seeking. Oops.
“It’s not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
He was trying to explain how those that have lost jobs in Pennsylvania might be bitter and disillusioned with this year’s election process, that they don’t feel our current crop of Presidential candidates are in touch with their problems. According to He-who-walks-on-water Obama their disillusionment is what’s causing them to cling to guns and cling to religion or have antipathy to people who aren’t like them or have an anti-immigrant sentiment.
Shiznit, you pompous elitist clown. I used to think John Kerry (the effete, French-looking, moonbat Liberal from Massachusetts) was was about as haughty as they get.
People hold fast to religion mostly due to their strong faith. Obama would know that if you had a genuine faith yourself.
People usually own guns for two reasons: to hunt, or to provide for self-defense. Obama has never hunted, and he’s never worried about self-defense.
Very few people in the United States have an anti-immigrant sentiment. But many have a strong anti-illegal-immigrant sentiment. It is these illegals that are sucking our infrastructure into bankruptcy without paying taxes. They are here illegally, they are trespassers, they are felons, they are criminals. How can Obama not understand the difference?

Says Newt Gingrich:
If you go to the most expensive private school in Hawaii and then move on to Columbia University and Harvard Law School, you may not understand normal Americans. Their beliefs are so alien to your leftwing viewpoint that you have to seek some psychological explanation for what seem to be weird ideas.
They can’t really believe in the right to bear arms.
They can’t really believe in traditional marriage.
They can’t really believe in their faith in God.
They can’t really want to enforce the law on immigration.
Therefore, they must be “bitter” and “frustrated.”
This is the closest Senator Obama has come to openly sharing his wife’s view that “America is a mean country”. Not since Governor Dukakis have we seen anyone so out of touch with normal Americans. It makes perfect sense that it was in a fundraiser in San Francisco that he would have shared the views he has so carefully kept hidden for the entire campaign.
His elitism and condescension towards people whom are religious, own guns, and oppose illegal immigration is apparent. Obama simply painted a picture of toothless inbred rednecks, and more than a few voters in small-town Pennsylvania saw his comments exactly as that. Obama is showing more and more his arrogant, haughty, disdainful opinion of us, the “great unwashed”, that only he, of lordly and noble heritage, can lead to the Promised Land.
