California’s Gun Laws Cause Innocent Woman To Die

April 4th, 2008 · No Comments

From Yahoo:

A woman was asking a 911 dispatcher for help when her pleas were interrupted by gunshots, then silence. She was shot to death.

The woman told the dispatcher someone was trying to break into her home in upscale West Covina, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. Dan Rosenberg said. “Deputies heard gunshots followed by silence and an open phone line,” he said.

Deputies arrived at the house, 20 miles east of Los Angeles, a few minutes after Wednesday’s late morning call.

The woman, whose name was not released by police, had been shot several times. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away. I’m sure they had plenty of yellow crime scene tape to wrap around the dead woman’s home.

The 911 dispatcher was able to hear this poor, innocent woman shot to death. 45-year-old Hsia Hsu was shot multiple times inside her gated home at about 11:40 a.m. - broad daylight, in a gated home.

Hsu was an immigrant from Taiwan, who attended university in the United States and called herself Michelle. Welcome to America, Hsia.

While police were investigating the shooting, a man arrived at the home asking about his wife. When he heard that the woman had been shot and killed, he collapsed and started to cry, saying “No! She just called me. You lie.” This poor guy, Robert Chien, 44, just lost his wife.

And all this from a state the goofy Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence ranks as #1 for the strength of their gun laws. Doesn’t seem to me like those draconian laws did anything to prevent the senseless murdering of this innocent woman. All they did was ensure that the woman was in no position to defend herself with her own gun. And for that the Brady Bunch are gleefully happy.

Gee, maybe they ought to push for a law that makes it illegal for a criminal to own a gun. And maybe a law making it illegal to use a gun in a crime. And maybe a law making it illegal to murder someone. Yeah, that ought to work just fine.

Which one of California’s laws deterred, slowed, or stopped the criminals in their search for and ownership of a gun? Even if every single gun were removed from the entire state do you think the criminals would have had a gun in their possession?

Then why, o why, do they work so damn hard to remove the guns from the hands of the innocent victims?

I need a drink.
