Asked whether he would move U.S. troops out of Iraq to better fight terrorism elsewhere, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama brought up Afghanistan and said, “We’ve got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we’re not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there.”
Wow. So our troops are “air-raiding villages” and “killing civilians” in Afghanistan? And this guy wants to be their Commander In Chief? Also note his use of the present tense here, something he must believe is happening today and it on-going. Pathetic.
That’s an entirely inaccurate condemnation of the efforts of the men and women of the United States military who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. But it’s part and parcel of a Liberal mindset that believes the worst about those that voluntarily protect the rest of us from the evil of international terrorism.
Does Obama even recognize that because of our troops:
- Afghanistan Has A Democratically-Elected President And National Assembly.
- Afghanistan’s Parliament Includes 91 Women, And President Karzai Has Appointed The First Woman To Serve As A Provincial Governor.
- The Afghan Economy Has Doubled In Size Since Liberation, And Since 2001, Afghanistan Has Attracted $800 Million In Foreign Investment.
- More Than 5 Million Afghan Children Are In School – And About 1.8 Million Of Them Are Girls.
- The United States Has Built Or Renovated 681 Health Clinics Across The Country.
- More Than 4.6 Million Afghan Refugees Have Come Home In One Of The Largest Return Movements In History.
- The United States Has Built Or Renovated 40 Judicial Facilities, Distributed More Than 11,000 Copies Of The Afghan Constitution, And Trained More Than 750 Afghan Judges, Lawyers, And Prosecutors.
“Air-raiding villages” and “killing civilians”. He’s just pandering to an anti-war audience and decided to offer up a depiction of our military right out of the post-Vietnam “you baby killers!” playbook.
Obama is just one more example that Affirmative Action does not work.
