Half of young children are anxious about the effects of global warming, often losing sleep because of their concern, according to a new report today.
A survey of 1,150 youngsters aged between seven and 11 found that one in four blamed politicians for the problems of climate change.
One in seven of those questioned by supermarket giant Somerfield said their own parents were not doing enough to improve the environment.
The most feared consequences of global warming included poor health, the possible submergence of entire countries and the welfare of animals.
“While many adults may look the other way, this study should show that global warming is not only hurting the children of the future, it’s affecting the welfare of kids now.”
Huh? Adults are affecting the welfare of kids today by “looking the other way” in regards to global warming? Can someone tell me how these seven-year-olds are knowledgeable about global warming? Could it be because the government-controlled schools are preaching this pseudo-science as gospel truth?
“Often losing sleep because of their concern”? “Poor health, the submergence of entire countries and the welfare of animals”? Exactly what are the teachers (which are government employees, by the way) shoving into the minds of these seven-year-olds?
- FACT: The Earth has often been hotter than it is now.
- FACT: Only a tiny portion of greenhouse gases are man-made.
- FACT: Most of Antarctica is getting cooler.
- FACT: The media only recently abandoned the “global cooling” scare.
- FACT: Global warming hasn’t made hurricanes worse.
- FACT: The liberal Left sees the manipulation of the environmental movement and especially global warming alarmism as the ideal scare campaign to secure increasingly strict controls over peoples lives.
Therefore anyone promoting the idea that mankind is destroying the planet because of greenhouse gas emissions is either very ignorant or bald-faced liars pushing a hidden agenda.
Global warming is the Left’s last best chance to gain a stranglehold on our political system and economy. For decades, environmentalism has been the Left’s best excuse for increasing government control over our actions in ways both large and small.
But until now, the doomsday-scenario environmental scares they’ve trumped up haven’t been large enough to justify the lifestyle restrictions they want to impose. With global warming, however, greenhouse gasbags can argue that auto emissions in Ohio threaten people in Paris, and that only “global governance” (Jacques Chirac’s words) can tackle such problems.
Weren’t the same people who were freaking out about pollution and overpopulation in the 1970s and then acid rain in the 1980s now freaking out about global warming now?
Although Al Gore and his moonbats, the media elites, and UN one-world anti-American anti-capitalist anti-human globalists endlessly bleat that global warming is an unprecedented global crisis, they really think of it as a dream come true. It’s the ideal scare campaign for those who hate capitalism and love big government. “Green on the outside, Red to the core.” For if global warming really were as bad as the Leftist doomsayers insist it is, then no policy imaginable could “solve” it. According to the logic of the moonbat’s own numbers, no matter how much we sacrifice (and have no doubt that there would be sacrifice upon sacrifice) there would still be more to do. That makes global warming the bottomless well of excuses for the relentless growth of big government.
