I make humble apologies to the three people that occasionally actually visit this blog for the upcoming lack of postings here.
Thanksgiving Day is Thursday. We start the day with a brief, casual service at Church … after all this is a day set aside for giving thanks. Then I’ll have lunch with my Mom and family and supper with my Gentle Bride™’s Mom and Dad and family. Later that night I’ll have some quality private time with a quart of Pepto Bismol.
Friday I have the day off … from my official employer. My unofficial employer, my Gentle Bride™, will probably have a generous list of things that I need to do – assuming that the Pepto Bismol the night before actually worked.
Friday may start out with my forced short exile to Danté’s 7th Level of Hell – also known as Black Friday at Wal-Mart. Oh no, my friends, this is something I’ve only done once in my entire life, and I swore then that I would never do this again. But my Gentle Bride™ and her two sisters are going in together to buy her parents a digital camera + docking station for Christmas, and if I’m there when the sale starts at 5:00 am I just may be lucky enough to be in the line of 593,641 people to get one of the 3 they have in stock at 50% off normal retail price. Were it a gift for me I’d be much happier with a bag of rocks, but since it’s for family I’ll make the extra effort – although I do expect a little Super Snuggle© Friday night from my Gentle Bride™ as partial payment for my efforts.
Saturday is House Cleaning Day. My Gentle Bride™ doesn’t trust me (with good reason – I sort the clothes based on which body part they cover) to load the washing machine, so emptying the dryer is my job … and moving plants from in front of the house to next year’s butterfly garden in the backyard … and some last-minute grocery shopping … and whatever else. I’m currently knee-deep in playing “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion” (I playing both a Warrior [midgame] and a BattleMage [early game]), so I also hope to get in some good sword clanging and spell throwing later that night.
Sunday morning is Church. Then for lunch the kids and I are taking my Gentle Bride™ out to lunch for her birthday. Actually her birthday was Tuesday but the weekdays/weeknights are way too busy for a decent celebration so, with her permission, we’re saving it for Sunday.
So outside from a few pre-built/delayed/automatic postings you probably won’t see too much here until later. Maybe this would be a good time for you to go offline and take a break and give thanks too.
