There will be 18 gazillion “interpretations” of what happened Tuesday when more Democrats were elected to the US House Of Representatives than Republicans. The Republicans had enjoyed a majority for the last dozen or so years.
I watched a few “news updates/bulletins” Tuesday night from the major US news outlets. Without exception all the updates I saw came from “journalists” that seemed to be hopped up on a combination of Viagra, Crystal Meth, and Ecstasy. There was glee radiating from their faces, their voices were charged with excitement. My gentle bride remarked how they sounded like they just won the lottery. But why shouldn’t they be happy? After all they’ve been working hard all year generating stories favorable of Democratic candidates while doing their best to criticize every Republican candidate.
So I wandered over to both the CBS News and CNN websites to look at their all-important Exit Poll Questions. Now I have no idea how these surveys were taken, nor how accurate they are, but what they show amazed me. Over the next few days I’ll post my thoughts on these surveys. They are/were located at:
ITEM 4: THE ECONOMY

This one came from CBS News. It is clear to me from their data of the people that voted nationwide for Congress that Republicans have a better view of the US economy than Democrats, and the more positive of the economy you are the greater the chances that you’re a Republican.
This is not a economics analysis, merely an observation.
* Whether or not you understand that lower taxes will attract and retain corporations and other large engines of commerce and industry …
* whether or not you realize that would-be Democratic committee chairs have proposed, on average, 90 times the spending their Republican counterparts have proposed …
* whether or not you realize that we currently have 4.4% unemployment, and anything at or under 5% is generally accepted as “full employment”, and historically 4.4% is the stuff of dreams, and globally 4.4% is practically unfathomable …
* whether or not you knew that, according to the Treasury Department, in 2005 more than 94 million tax filers benefited from lower tax rates, not just “the evil rich 1%” …
* whether or not you understand that to fix the crumbling Social Security the choice essentially boils down to tax hikes, benefit cuts/delays, or personal accounts, and the Republicans want to do the last option while the Democrats want to do the first two options …
* whether or not you realize that the Unemployment Rate, the Inflation Rate, and Economic Growth under Bush is equal to or better than those under Clinton – and the media reported that the US economy was absolutely wonderful under Clinton …
* whether or not you’re a Conservative or Liberal or Moderate …
Republicans have a better plan for the economy than Democrats. Therefore to place Congress in the hands of Democrats is to put Congress into the hands of those that, statistically, don’t understand economics and merely relies on the media to tell them what to think. Some people think that’s a wonderful idea, some think that’s a bad idea.
Every accepted economic indicator screams that the US economy is better under Bush than it has been for 20 years. Yet this polling data shows how Democrats are complaining about the economy. Why is that? It’s easy to understand once you attach this to my earlier observations.
1. Democrats have no faith
2. Democrats are young.
3. Democrats have no education.
4. Democrats are unemployed.
5. Democrats have no income.
6. Democrats have no hope – outside of a Welfare Nanny State Socialist government that will coddle them and take care of their needs from cradle to grave via the efforts of those that actually work, earn an income, and contribute to society.
The media will spin Tuesday’s election as an anti-referendum against Bush and Iraq. While that is a major component of Liberal philosophy there is much more that divides US voters than just Bush or Iraq.
One of the major components is the Economy. The Democrats want you to give up more and more of your income to them so that they can re-distribute it according to what they perceive as “needs”. Any income you earn from your efforts belong to the “community”, not to you. And this will still be here long after Bush is out of office. There are genuine differences between Democrats and Republicans, Liberals and Conservatives.
