Trackbacked at Hot Air, MY Vast Right Wing Conspiracy:
Media darling and clinically brain-dead Congressperson Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) will not return to Washington to represent Georgia’s 4th Congressional District in 2007. She was beat in the Democratic Primary Runoff by newcomer Hank Johnson 60% to 40%.
I do understand, and acknowledge, the “radical” sadness expressed by some very intelligent Conservatives over Cynthia not returning to Congress. They knew that while Cynthia was in Washington the Democrats would “lose” a vote. Even the Democratic leadership knew Cynthia was an embarassment. Nobody really listened to her. She never offered any meaningful legislation. But Hank Johnson is a real threat. His vote on issues will come from an intelligent Liberal and he might possibly become a problem to Conservative legislation.
But I live in the 4th District. Cynthia was an embarassment. Cynthia never represented any of my values. She needs to leave Washington, join up with Code Pink, and start wearing tin foil hats to keep the aliens from secretly probing the cabbage between her ears.
Bye bye Cynthia.

UPDATE: basil has penned a song, sung to the tune of “The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald” called “The Wreck Of The Cynthia McKinney”. It’s absolutely priceless.

Cynthia McKinney Bows Out Gracelessly

She did not exit gracefully.
And as usual she blamed her defeat on anyone but herself. And, …

Although I don’t live in the 4th District I do live in Atlanta (Roswell) and have been continually embarrassed by McKinney’s ridiculous antics. She was given a run in politics based on a family legacy and a constituency that looked past her ineptitude hoping that she would become the person who pushed their agenda. What they found themselves with was a caricature of a small-minded, race-baiting, spotlight-seeking woman whose idea of good politics was to blame a police officer for doing his job.
Interestingly the media that she blamed for her loss (it couldn’t have been the fact that people didn’t vote for her) isn’t covering the racial hatred spewed forth by her entourage after her press conference. I can only wonder what would happen if a white politician lost and members of that campaign loudly blamed blacks and Jews in front of cameras.
