Another Brief Bit Of History

What were you doing 12 years ago today?

12 years ago hundreds were injured and 85 men and women, young and old, were murdered for no reason other than the fact that they were Jewish.

You see, terrorism against Jews is not merely a recent event. It’s not even anything that Israel itself has started. They’ve simply defended themselves from extinction since the day Israel was created by UN proclamation.

In 1992 and 1994, two bombs devastated the Argentinean Jewish community and marked the arrival, for the first time, of Middle Eastern terrorism to South America. While the two cases, which are thought to be related, have been officially under investigation for all these years, little progress has been made, and the responsible parties have not yet been apprehended. Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed Lebanese terrorist organization, is thought to be behind these murders. Yes, the very same Hezbollah that today is launching missles into civilian areas of northern Israel. The probe into the bombing also has not ruled out an Iranian connection.

Argentina’s Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires was the sight of the first explosion, a car bomb, on March 17, 1992. The bomb killed 29, and injured over 250. Among the victims were Israeli diplomats, children and clergy from a church located across the street, and other passerby. The investigation of the case was assigned to Argentina‘s Supreme Court. Chief Justice Ricardo Levene was given the task of investigating and presenting his findings to the court. For over two years, however, the investigation languished, and virtually no action was taken, despite the fact that Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the explosion immediately after it happened.

It was not until July 18, 1994, that the case again received serious attention. On that date, the AMIA Jewish community center in Buenos Aires was bombed; 87 people were killed, and over 100 injured. Judge Jose Galeano was assigned to investigate, but, like Judge Levene, he made little progress.

In this war, World War III, Islamic terrorists aim their weapons, intentionally and without any pangs of conscience, at defenseless civilians. In the war of terror against sane humanity, civilians have become the front. In this war, we must not display weakness or give in to blackmail or violence. Terrorism must be defeated.

In order to achieve the dream of a better world we must join together and help each other: Jews, Christians, Hindu, Buddhist, Athiest, and Muslims, as one. We must get together, all the religions and nations in the US, Israel, Europe, the Middle East, and the rest of the world, and stand as one, united against the enemy. To fall into petty bickering, to stand alone, to blame Israel for existing is to empower those that would conquer the world into shari’a.

We are, today, witnessing the emergence of a power set to dominate the free world, no different from Communism or Nazism. And like those times there are many that desire isolationism or pacifism. Those people are either selfish or coward. And like those times before there will be the few that will freely step forward to defend freedom against tyranny.

You have to decide for yourself where you will stand.
