Trackbacked at basil’s blog, Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler, Sister Toldjah:
Today is Friday, July 14th. I’m reading through the morning headlines on the major online news services.
Most Americans are factually ignorant about major worldwide events. Some of this is by design, some of it pure laziness. What few “facts” they learn are provided by quick soundbites and video snippets.

From these it would appear that Israel is not being nice to poor Lebanon. This fits well with the anti-Jew sentiment of the UN, of Europe, of the Arab world, and of many right here in the US.
And now the mainstream media is showing its bias by only reporting their agenda with respect to the current conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
- Where are the stories that explain how Hezbollah is hiding among Lebanese while firing their missles into Israel?
- Did you learn that Hezbollah is targeting Israeli civilians while the Israeli military are using precise strikes against Hezbollah strongholds?
- Did you know that there is some information showing that at least some of the missle strikes against Israel may be coming from Iranian-operated launchers inside of Lebanon?
- Where do the news artcles state that Hezbollah has continued to fire rockets into northern Israel?
- Has anyone made the statement that the U.S. would never allow another country to fire missiles and us and not retaliate and defend ourselves?
- Where is the comdemnation of Syria for masterminding the Hezbollah raid that led to the killing of three soldiers and the abduction of two others from inside Israel?
- Where are the probing questions as to why the Lebanese government exercises little, if any, control over Hezbollah within Lebanon?
- Does the reader ever find out that this whole thing started because Hezbollah members crossed the heavily fortified Israeli border Wednesday, and that in an ambush, they killed three Israeli soldiers and captured two, whom they spirited away to Lebanese territory?
- Why isn’t anyone questioning why even though there is a U.N. resolution calling for the disarmament of Hezbollah, Hezbollah is obviously not disarmed?
- Are there any editorials talking about it being way past time for the civilized nations of the world to take a strong stance against the terrorist organizations and the countries that support them?
- Did you read where there was an Arab-backed resolution brought up at the U.N. Security Council condemning Israel’s military incursion into Gaza, but absolutely nothing condemning Hezbollah’s military incursion into and subsequent missle attack of Israel?
- Do the above news articles contain pictures of destruction within Israel, or only within Lebanon?
- Have you learned that the Katyusha multiple rocket launchers were built and fielded by the Soviet Union in World War II, and have you began to wonder how Hezbollah came to obtain so many of these weapons, and maybe why now Russia wants Israel to back down and not Hezbollah to do so?
- You may have learned that Israel has held Lebanese leaders responsible for Hezbollah’s capture of two soldiers, but did you read that the Lebanese government says it has no real control over Hezbollah, a “state-within-state”?
- Did you read any support for the notion of Israel’s right to defend herself, or comdemnation of Israel’s actions to defend herself?
- Did the researchers remind the readers that Hezbollah is responsible for killing hundreds of U.S. Marines?
- Have you read any commentary about support of Israel’s fight against terrorism, or support of terrorists fight against civilization?
