Tuesday afternoon I noticed a huge increase in the number of hits to this humble blog.
Real Clear Politics, a HUGH player in the blogosphere, not only gave this blog a link, but in fact gave two links [edited graphic]:

And, of all posts, it was to one of the cheesiest posts I’ve done in awhile.
WOW! So for the next 12 hours this humble blog received triple the number of usual hits. I have probably just witnessed my Official 15 Minutes Of Fame. I survived my first (and probably only) RealClearalanche.
For a few brief hours I was actually listed -before- the likes of Dr. Sanity, Confederate Yankee, Volokh Conspiracy, Sister Toldjah, Tigerhawk, Iowa Voice, Stop the ACLU. Oh no, most certainly, I’ll never be as good as they are – I’m happy just to be included in the same paragraph as they were!
Some of the hits came from outside the US: Finland, France, Germany, Afghanistan, Singapore
Some from municipal governments: Government of Canada, King County (Washington state), Greater Victoria (Canada) Public Library
Some from colleges. Kent State University, Salem State College, University of Washington
Some from businesses: JPMorgan Chase, Nokia (Finland), Honeywell, Circuit City
Then some got really scary: Andrews Air Force Base, Los Alamos National Laboratory
I tried to explain my glee to my gentle bride, but she never seemed to understand: “Honey why would a bunch of strangers what to hear what you have to say? I don’t even do that.”
I have absolutely no idea why Real Clear Politics would be wasting their time visiting this blog when there are so many really first-rate pundits out there with many more connections and lots more smarts, but thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate you allowing me to have my words read by so many people from so many places.
Tuesday, June 13, 2006. Bush won in Iraq, Rove won in Washington, Hillary lost in Washington, Zarqawi is out of the game and living in Hell. Atlanta’s former corrupt mayor, Bill Campbell, got 30 months in the federal lock-up. I found out that, after undergoing 6 months of reorganization, pay cuts, and layoffs at work, that I still have a job. And I won a nanosecond of attention from the blogosphere. A really great day.
