From canada.com:

Human rights groups are raising alarms over a new law passed by the Iranian parliament that would require the country’s Jews and Christians to wear coloured badges to identify them and other religious minorities as non-Muslims.

“This is reminiscent of the Holocaust,” said Rabbi Marvin Hier, the dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. “Iran is moving closer and closer to the ideology of the Nazis.”

Iranian expatriates living in Canada yesterday confirmed reports that the Iranian parliament, called the Islamic Majlis, passed a law this week setting a dress code for all Iranians, requiring them to wear almost identical “standard Islamic garments.”

The law, which must still be approved by Iran’s “Supreme Guide” Ali Khamenehi before being put into effect, also establishes special insignia to be worn by non-Muslims.

Iran’s roughly 25,000 Jews would have to sew a yellow strip of cloth on the front of their clothes, while Christians would wear red badges and Zoroastrians would be forced to wear blue cloth.

The new law was drafted two years ago, but was stuck in the Iranian parliament until recently when it was revived at the behest of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Mr. Ahmadinejad has repeatedly described the Holocaust as a myth and earlier this year announced Iran would host a conference to re-examine the history of the Nazis’ “Final Solution.”

He has caused international outrage by publicly calling for Israel to be “wiped off the map.”

In other words, Iran wants Jews and Christians to wear targets by making them identifiable for persecution.

badgeThe law mandates the government to make sure that all Iranians wear “standard Islamic garments” designed to remove ethnic and class distinctions reflected in clothing, and to eliminate “the influence of the infidel” on the way Iranians, especially, the young dress. It also envisages separate dress codes for religious minorities, Christians, Jews and Zoroastrians, who will have to adopt distinct colour schemes to make them identifiable in public. The new codes would enable Muslims to easily recognize non-Muslims so that they can avoid shaking hands with them by mistake, and thus becoming najis (unclean).

The new law replaces the one passed in 1982 dealing with women’s clothes. That law imposed the hijab and focused on the need to force women to cover their hair in public. The emphasis on the hijab was based on the belief that women’s hair emanates an “evil ray” that drives men “into lustful irrationality” and thus causes harm to Islam.

On color schemes under this proposed law there seems to be consensus. Islamic legislators are unanimous that Islam is incompatible with “gay, wild, provocative colours” such as red, yellow, and light blue, which are supposed to be favoured by Satan. The colors to be imposed by law are expected to be black, brown, dark blue and dark grey.Religious minorities would have their own color schemes. They will also have to wear special insignia, known as zonnar, to indicate their non-Islamic faiths.

One aim of the new law is to impose a total ban on imports of clothes and dress designs from the West. The Majlis hopes that all jeans will disappear from the Iranian scene within five years. Another aim of the new law is to abolish the chador, the overall piece of cloth that Iranian women have tucked themselves in for centuries. The reason is that the chador existed before the Khomeinist revolution and thus cannot be regarded as “properly Islamic.” Women must wear clothes that would, in fact, transform them into advertising billboards for the regime’s ideology. “Our aim is to make sure that every Muslim, wherever he or she happens to be on this Earth, is a living and walking symbol of Islam,” says Mostafa Pourhardani, Minister of Islamic Orientation.

Is Iran turning into the new Nazi Germany? It’s no coincidence that there was an active Muslim SS during WWII. Isn’t it ironic that a nation that denies the holocaust ever happened has so much in common with the very intolerance and ideals that created the holocaust in the first place?

Did you know Hitler got this idea originally from Omar ibn al-Khattab, the second Caliph and Mohammad’s most trusted disciple? After a four month siege of Jerusalem in 638 AD, the christian and Jewish population finally capitulated to the Arabs and handed over control of the city. In exchange for their lives and religious identity, the Jews and Christians agreed to an archaine set of segregation laws, commonly known as the “Pact of Omar.” One of the provisions was that they had to wear a yellow sash in public known as the zunar. Later in the 9th century, it was later changed to a yellow Star Of David, and a yellow cross. Some believe that Hitler’s friend, the grand mufti Al-Husseini of Jerusalem in the 1930′s gave him the idea. Nazis and Muslims have been friends for a long time.

Congratulations on being among the millions of knee-jerk reactionaries worldwide to take a false report and turn it into “Is Iran turning into the new Nazi Germany?”

Not only was the report false:

But also, your post bespeaks a general lack of education on the deeper, underlying attitudes espoused by Islamic fundamentalists since the beginning of that religion.
