From Bloomberg.com: “Moussaoui Seeks to Withdraw Guilty Plea in Sept. 11 Attacks”
May 8 (Bloomberg) — Zacarias Moussaoui, who was sentenced to life in prison last week for conspiring in the Sept. 11 attacks, sought permission today to withdraw his guilty plea and go to trial in an effort to prove he wasn’t part of the plot.
“I now see that it is possible that I can receive a fair trial even with Americans as jurors,” Moussaoui said in court papers filed in federal court in Alexandria, Virginia. He said his claim during the trial that he was a member of the plot to crash planes into buildings on Sept. 11 was a “complete fabrication.”
In today’s court filing, Moussaoui said he never met hijacker pilot Mohamed Atta and that while he “may have seen a few of the other hijackers” he didn’t know about their operation. He said he was “extremely surprised” when the jury in Virginia didn’t sentence him to death and that he now realizes the jury system was “more complex than I assumed.”
No, in reality Moussaoui realized that, in the US,
- it is entirely possible to find 12 people that can walk upright without having a spine
- the current system of capital punishment in the US is arbitrary and capricious
- he could have, as his judges, a group of strangers that were more concerned about his possible martyrdom than vindication of the deaths of 3000 innocent US citizens
- beating to death one gay guy, or one black guy, or one illegal Mexican tresspasser, is a greater crime than vaporizing and crushing 3000 innocent Americans
- the US justice system has a group of 12 knuckle-dragging bleeding hearts “I feel your pain” liberals forming the weakest link in the system
- a claim of an “abusive” upbringing is a mitigating circumstance, absolving the criminal of blame or personal responsibility
- a jury, in the US, can easily found to be devoid of morality and sense of proportion
With all of this in mind Moussaoui now thinks that, along with the Dream Team borrowed from “lawful citizen” O.J. Simpson, he stands a decent chance of walking out of the courthouse a free man – so that he can plan and execute another plan to kill as many innocent US citizens as possible. And there will probably be several high-powered lawyers willing to assist him.

I have a better option. There is an area of land just outside of my home town, down here in Georgia, in the southeast US. It’s about 100 acres of woodlands, hills, and meadows. It’s private property and it’s leased out on weekends to people wanting to hunt deer. How about simply carrying him to the middle of this property in a helicopter and releasing him – and allowing a couple dozen or so of us backwoods rednecks down here to play “hide and seek” with this butcher. |
