Common Folk Using Common Sense

As I was surfing along this morning I ran across someone’s personal blog. On the front page there was a poll, the title of which I won’t repeat. As a matter of fact I’ve even had to edit out some of the more “hairy” lauguage used in the poll.

I’ll post the results here. As to the primary question posed by the poll I’ll let you decide for yourselves – if you don’t understand then ask a teenager – they would know more about this that their ‘ancient’ parents.

My primary complaint of this poll is that the answers, I would imagine, all came from males, even though the poll was centered around females, which is a completely unfair way to do things. In all fairness I think it would be comical for the females to answer a poll like this about the males.

Why is it that God has made such beautiful creatures as us humans, and yet we either spend so much time wanting to “customize” ourselves, or we wish/demand that others customize themselves to our liking? Isn’t anyone happy that God saw fit to make you in the first place, and that there are way more important issues facing us than whether we happen to avail ourselves of the latest trends or styles? I’m 46 years old, gaining more weight, and losing more hair. I was never a beautiful person even in my best years. But I’m not going to live my life dictated by the current fad-of-the-year or what I saw on the cover of some magazine. I’m not going to demand it of myself, and I’m not going to demand it of my gentle bride (who just happens to be the most beautiful woman God ever created).

Oh, and for the insanely curious: no, I didn’t vote. What would my vote have been? Hmmm, let’s just say that I don’t follow what some deem to be the “popular” vote.
