My rantings and ravings in this interesting world.

An Online Abortion Manual

Hat tip to Grandma’s House:

South Dakota Gov. Mike Rounds signed a bill recently that bans nearly all abortions in the state, legislation in direct conflict with the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion in 1973.

The new law defines life as originating “at the time of conception.”

In the history of the world, the true test of a civilization is how well people treat the most vulnerable and most helpless in their society,” said a statement released by Rounds.

Wow. Are we getting ready to see a battle against the landmark Roe v. Wade decision? One of the most volatile, divisive, emotionally-charged issues in recent U.S. history? A major battle ground between Democrat and Republican, Liberal and Conservative?

Now let me introduce you to Molly, of the blog “Molly Saves the Day“. She writes about “feminist issues, liberal talk, and news analysis”.

In light of the South Dakota bill, Molly wrote an article entitled, “For the women of South Dakota: an abortion manual“.

You will now need to remove small pieces of fetal material and membrane from the uterus with the forceps. Some of these pieces will be distinctly identifiable as fetal material. Save the material until the end of the procedure on a piece of plastic, so that you can be sure the entire fetus has been removed. If doing this sounds too ethically challenging, remember that fetuses do not have the capacity to feel actual pain until the third trimester.

Yep, she describes, in good detail, a step-by-step guide on how to perform an abortion without the need of a pesky doctor or getting the dreaded government involved.

Today, I will discuss dilation and curettage — what used to be the most common abortion procedure before vacuum aspiration took its place. Vacuum aspiration is an easier method, but sometimes remaining fetal/placental material necessitates doing a “cleanup” D&C anyway, so you should know how to do this procedure first.

She does state that this is “as information only“.

My oh my. I’m not sure where to start.

First, I understand that Molly thinks she is simply “empowering” women to “have control” over their bodies, especially in the light of the “oppressive Conservatives”.

But I am aghast. Molly is as much a terrorist as those Islamofascists that cut the heads off innocent people. While I doubt that she will ever perform an abortion on anyone, the fact that she would promote a “user’s guide” for killing unborn children calls to mind the same Nazi butchers that wrote those “medical journals” after “experimenting” with Jewish prisoners in WWII. I’m sure she sees some children to be unnessary problems that can be treated the same as a cancerous tumor, but her callousness in describing a growing human being as nothing more that “fetal material” strikes me as barbaric. I agree with her that women should have control over their bodies, but where I disagree with her is when it impacts someone else’s body – the child’s.

I guess it all goes back to when a person believes human life “occurs”: at conception, where abortion would be nothing short of murder, or ’somewhere just prior to birth’ when the tissue ceases to be fetal material and becomes human. I doubt Molly can successfully describe to me when this happens. I guess, therefore, there was a time when Molly herself wasn’t human, as opposed to today when she appears to be inhuman.
