Blogger Gavriel, over at AbbaGav, makes another worthwhile statement that is so simple to comprehend, yet it seems to be lost in the minds of so many intellectuals:
When a People immigrates to your country and demands you accommodate their lifestyle and principles by abandoning your own, it’s no longer called immigration, it’s called conquest.
Immigrants have moved from country to country for at least as long as there have been countries, and sure, each migration has had its impact on the new host. Anyone who thinks a country can absorb large numbers of new citizens and not be affected by the process is being unreasonable. But the immigrants’ impact occurs through being mixed in with what was there before to create a new whole, not by demanding the hosts adapt themselves to the incoming culture.
Immigration or conquest?
The United States survived tremendous waves of immigrants between 1700 and 1900. Thousands upon thousands of people from all over the world came to the US with the hopes of taking part in the Great Experiment In Liberty. While each family steadfastly retained the culture and heritage of their birthplace they also voluntarily assimilated themselves into a great Melting Pot thus creating the vast diversity and heritage of what the US is today.
- The Dutch never demanded that schools teach Dutch alongwith English
- The Germans never demanded that Congress officially recognize uniquely German holidays
- The Scots never demanded that all schoolchildren be allowed to wear a kilt
- The French never demanded that the states, by law, recognize uniquely French religious faiths
- The Irish never demanded that the vending machines in private business offices dispense Bushmills alongside Coca-Cola
But …
- Muslims are demanding that burkas be allowed to cover women’s faces in official government photo ID - rendering them absolutely useless - even though nobody else can wear a simple hat or sunglasses.
- Muslims think it’s fine and dandy for the media to publish cartoons depicting Jews drinking Palestinian blood but want the media to refrain from publishing cartoons depicting Muhammad with a bomb in his turban.
- A Sikh is demanding a three-day reprieve from arrest if the arresting officer happens upon him while he is reading his holy scriptures - a practice that takes fifty hours - and must not be interrupted. There are no such reprieves for Baptist ministers when they are reading the Bible.
- Muslim husbands who beat their wives must be treated differently from other domestic violence cases, as a matter of cultural sensitivity: “In incidents such as domestic violence police need to have an understanding of the traditions, ways of life and habits of Muslims.”
- Christian pastors can be found guilty of vilification of Muslims for crimes such as quoting verses of the Qur’an that Muslims preferred that non-Muslims not know about.
In exchange for the opening of Arab markets, Europeans encouraged Muslim immigration into Europe, discouraged assimilation of these immigrant populations, and fostered the dissemination in Europe of Islamic perspectives on history and contemporary politics. Meanwhile European foreign policies were brought into harmony with the aims and goals of the Islamic world.
To deflate American power and assure themselves a steady supply of oil, European leaders accepted the traditional cultural baggage of Arab societies, with its anti-Christian and anti-Jewish prejudices and its hostility against Israel and the West. In exchange for markets in the Islamic world, Europe turned its back on its Judeo-Christian heritage and set the stage for its own Islamization. At the highest political level, Europe has been selling its soul for decades now — giving up, in effect, its blood for oil (not to mention the blood of countless Iraqis and others who had to suffer under the heel of tyrants with whom Europe happily did business.)
The fall of Europe gives rise to Eurabia. And now the teeth of this viper, known as Islam, has turned towards the US. WIll you lie down, no war at any cost? Of do you care enough about both yourself and your family to stand against the onslaught? Are you watching Immigration Or Conquest?
