Mother Upset Her Daughter Failed as Suicide Bomber

Hat tip to Little Green Footballs:

From Arutz Sheva Israel Broadcasting Network:

… an interview broadcast last week featured the mother of Wafa Al-Bas, the 21-year-old Arab woman from Gaza who was arrested at the Erez Crossing in June 2005 wearing a 20-pound (9 kg) bomb under her clothes.

The PA TV interview with Al-Bas’ parents, which aired on February 20th, features her mother saying the event was hard for her - not because her daughter was on a suicide mission, but because she was arrested on her way to carry it out.

Al-Bas intended to bomb Be’er Sheva’s Soroka Hospital outpatient clinic, where she had been receiving regular treatments for serious burns on 45 percent of her body resulting from a gas stove explosion in her home.

The failed bomber later told Israeli television that her greatest wish was to kill 30 to 50 Israelis, including children. The hospital attack would likely have killed or maimed the very Israeli doctor who had saved her life.

OK, let’s understand this fully:
- A 21-year-old Arab woman from Gaza, named Wafa Al-Ba, was burned over 45% of her body due to a gas stove explosion in her home.
- This woman went to Be’er Sheva’s Soroka Hospital outpatient clinic where she received regular treatments for her serious burns.
- This woman then straps on 20 pounds of explosives under her clothes and attempts to blow up the very hospital that was caring for her severe burns.
- This woman wanted to kill 30 to 50 Israelis, including children and possibly the doctor that had saved her life earlier, at the very hospital that was caring for her severe burns.
- This woman’s mother went on TV to say that her daughter’s inability to kill 30 to 50 Israelis, including children and possibly the doctor that had saved her life earlier, was hard on her.

Although it seldom gets reported, Israel has a policy of providing humanitarian assistance to Palestinians, which allowed her to be admitted to the Soroka Medical Centre. Taking advantage of the fact that she had access into Israel and was due to be seen by doctors at the hospital on Monday, she agreed to a request by Al Aksa Brigade commanders in Gaza to don the explosives and blow up as instructed, in a “crowded area in the hospital.”

Al-Bas explained to reporters why she carried out the act:

I love Allah, I love the land of Palestine and I am a member of Al-Aksa Brigades… my dream was to be a martyr. I believe in death… Since I was a little girl I wanted to carry out an attack.

Though media outlets often rationalize, and apologize for, Palestinian suicide terror as a ‘desperate’ response to Israeli wrongdoing, al-Bas’ statement is the latest indication that the main motivation for the heinous crime is a twisted, lifelong aspiration to achieve ‘greatness’ via mass murder.

According to a Haaretz report, Israeli security received a tip on al-Bas’ imminent attack, and gave the Palestinian Authority and PA President Mahmoud Abbas detailed information regarding it, but the PA did not act.

Can someone describe to me the level of barbarism, the degree of merciless cruelty, that a young woman would purposefully murder the doctor that recently saved her life, the doctor that provided the much needed care of her severe burns? Can someone describe to me the savage hostility that would drive a civilized person to gain enjoyment from murdering 30 to 50 innocent people? Can someone describe to me the destructive passion of a person that would coax them into killing innocent children?

And the mother goes on further:

Al-Bas’ mother said in the PA TV interview that she knew that her daughter had wanted to be a martyr since she was a little girl, but had not encouraged her - not because she opposed the idea of suicide bombing, but because Wafa was female. “If it was a boy, I would have supported, but since she is a girl I discouraged,” she said.

Oh, well ain’t that nice of her? Good ‘ole Mom didn’t push her daughter into killing innocent people because she was just a worthless female, a person that has value only as a producer of more barbaric offspring. Had she been a he then Mom would have been pushing him into Hell from the very start. But Wafa Al-Bas was just a lowly female - she had to develop her utter contempt for life on her own. Well bless her little heart.

I hate radical militant Islam. This is not a faith, but rather an excuse to exercise your own personal agenda of death while wrapping it and protecting it under a false veil of “it’s God’s will”. It is a cancer of civilization. It has to be removed so that the rest of civilization will survive. Until radical Islam is removed from the face of the Earth there will be joy in the death of innocent people. This degree of bitterness, venom, and hostility cannot be debated or contained. This is evil, pure and simple. There is but one diety that takes pleasure in the death of others - some may call him Allah, but I call him Satan.
