Shyamalama..U have offended the Probhet(PBUH) for reasons u derive are suitable in your interpretation.Has it ever occured to you that the way you interpret could be erroneous?There are millions of muslims in holy devotion even as I type this and has it ever occured to you why they would be doing so? What is that force that drives them to do it even in this so called modern world?That my friend is something that you may never understand.Coz you will never ever belong to anything.All ppl like you know is to critique.Blind faith you will never have. I make the assumption that the Hadith are recognized throughout Islam as being authentic.

Yes, the prophet may have been a kind, considerate, human, good-natured, benevolent, unselfish, chaste, respectful, impartial, noble person. Those words do not excuse a 54-year-old man marrying a 6-year-old girl, and then having sexual relations with her when she became 9 years old.

I also have learned through my readings of the Quran, the Hadith, and generally accepted histories of the time that the prophet tortured and killed a man just to get money, allowed female slaves to be raped, ordered the murder of a women who opposed him, and ordering the murder of slave girls who had mocked him. He also led a band of terrorists that murdered many people, stole anything they wanted, and caused entire areas to live in fear. Those events, too, are covered in the Hadith as well as accepted histories.

No, Faysal, I have absolutely no respect for the prophet. I see him as a leader of a cult of death and destruction.

First, you are talking as if u have s strong belief in the authenticity of those references that you are mentionning. Why would you accept Aisha’s narration of her marriage to the Porphet while at the same time reject her narrations of how the prophet was a kind, considerate, human, good-natured, benevolent, unselfish, chaste, respectful, impartial, noble… person ? If you can trust any of those narration, why don’t u try and study who that person called Muhammad was instead of changing ur attitudes regarding the authenticity of those islamic Traditions based on whether u are in a mood to accept or reject them at any particular moment in ur life. Do u follow ur lust when searching for some truth or do u stand on some objective and safe ground??
