The House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to withhold direct US foreign aid from the Palestinian Authority unless Hamas revokes its call for the destruction of Israel.
Lawmakers in the lower chamber of the US Congress approved the measure by a voice vote of 418 to one. The Senate has yet to vote on the measure.
418 to one. Now would somebody tell me who out of the US House of Representatives would not vote to withhold direct US foreign aid from the Palestinian Authority unless Hamas revokes its call for the destruction of Israel?
The resolution stated that Congress is “Expressing the sense of Congress that no United States assistance should be provided directly to the Palestinian Authority if any representative political party holding a majority of parliamentary seats within the Palestinian Authority maintains a position calling for the destruction of Israel.”
House Majority Leader John Boehner, speaking before the vote, said the measure would send a message to Hamas that Washington means business as it presses the Islamist group to break with its past views on Israel’s right to exist.
“Our message is clear,” the Republican leader added. “The United States does not and will not support terrorist organizations.”
So who is the lone person to vote against the resolution? Why that would be the Honorable Representative and Democrat of the 1st District in Hawaii, Mr. Neil Abercrombie.
Even the usual chorus of moonbats voted for this resolution. Representatives Jackson (D-IL), Jackson-Lee (D-TX), Conyers (D-MI), and Minority Leader Pelosi (D-CA) all voted “yea”. But not Abercrombie.
And he is a member of the Committee on Armed Services, someone that should know something about armed conflict.
In 2004, from Project Vote Smart, according to the “National Journal – Liberal on Foreign Policy’s calculations” Representative Abercrombie voted more liberal on foreign policy issues than 91% of the Representatives. Out of all of the Representatives, both the Liberals and Conservatives combined. He also earned a 88% Liberal on Social Policies and a 74% Liberal on Economic Policies.
Abercrombie supported the interests of the Citizens Against Government Waste 0% in 2004. Citizens Against Government Waste is the watchdog group trying to reign in our taxes and stop pork barrel spending. To get a perfect 0% Representative Abercrombie is a typical tax-and-spend Democrat.
He got a 0 from the NRA but a 100 from the Brady Campaign. You want my gun too, Abercrombie?
He voted lock-step with “NARAL Pro-Choice America” 100% in 2005. He supported the interests of the ACLU 95% in 2003-2004. Abercrombie supported the interests of the NAACP 100% in 2005. He supported the interests of the Arab American Institute 60% in 2004, and supported the interests of the National Council of La Raza 100% in 2004.
Representative Abercrombie supported the interests of the Council on American-Islamic Relations 100% in 2005. That’s says more that you realize, Representative Abercrombie.
He has a PhD in American Studies, with both a BA and MA in Sociology. Yep, one of those people.

Anyone see a pattern here? Oh yeah, this guy is bought and paid for by the unions, stalwarts of the Democratic Party.
He also follows in the footsteps of the Democratic Party by making public statements regarding a timetable for bringing U.S. troops home from Iraq, voting against the PATRIOT Act extension, demanding a ban on the torture of detainees, accusing the President of warrantless spying on Americans, etc.

Congressman Neil Abercrombie was named “Scot of the Year” on January 27, 2006 by the Caledonian Society of Hawaii. Geez. Caledonian Society of Hawaii, you amaze me. I too have Scottish heritage, but never include me in with any group Mr. Abercrombie is in. In my eyes he is far more Palestinian than he is Scottish. During the Battle of Sterling Neil would have sided with Longshanks and never fought with William Wallace.
