Let’s start Friday with some great news –
From MedPage Today:
A drink or two a day may decrease the risk of ischemic stroke, researchers here said, but they aren’t prescribing drinking for cerebrovascular health.
Moderate drinkers, defined as those who consumed at least one drink per month but no more than two per day, had a 33% reduced risk of ischemic stroke compared with individuals who didn’t drink, said Mitchell S.V. Elkind, M.D., of the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons.
After adjusting for risk factors such as age, race, hypertension, diabetes, and cholesterol levels, the researchers found that, compared with non-drinkers, moderate drinkers had a significantly reduced risk of ischemic stroke (hazard ratio=0.67; 95% confidence interval=0.46-0.99).
Moderate drinkers had a nearly identical risk reduction for all strokes (HR=0.68; 95% CI=0.47-0.98), as well as significantly lower odds for the combined endpoint of ischemic stroke, myocardial infarction, and vascular death (HR=0.74; 95% CI=0.59-0.94).

Three Round-Ups For the Price of One
That’s right, folks. I somehow managed to puzzle it out that Paris Hilton is a moron. Clearly, I’m a genius. Kneel before my intellect, sons and daughters of Jor-El.

I need to make more money. When you like Black Bush and old Glenmorangie, it\’s best not to have to resort to robbery.
