From The Scotsman.com:

An Islamic campaign group has called for a Catholic primary school to be based on the Muslim faith.

The Campaign for Muslim Schools said 90 per cent of pupils at St Albert’s Primary, in the Pollokshields area of Glasgow, are Muslim, yet children are having to take part in Catholic rituals like saying the Lord’s Prayer and attending mass.

Osama Saeed, co-ordinator of the alliance of Glasgow’s main mosques and Muslim organisations, said he could see no reason why the main faith of the school should not change.

He said: “Clearly the parents of that area find a faith school, even if it is of another denomination, preferable to a secular one. But surely it should be possible for them to have one that is relevant to their own faith.

The call came just days after Scotland’s most senior Catholic, Cardinal Keith O’Brien, sparked controversy by stating that Scotland’s core faith was Christianity and that other faiths should recognise they were “living in Scotland as a Christian country”.

OK, so let me get this straight. In Glasgow there is a school. It’s called St Albert’s Primary.

Recently it has been discoverred that 90% of the pupils attending St Albert’s Primary are Muslim. These students, and their parents, knew beforehand that St Albert’s Primary is a Catholic private school. They knew beforehand that Catholic teachings, history, philosophy, and religious faith would be taught at St Albert’s Primary.

Yet now they are asking that the school, to change its entire foundation.

In November, 2003, the Muslim Association of Britain pinpointed four Glasgow schools, including St Albert’s Primary, for conversion to Muslim schools. They also wanted Pollokshields Primary, Annette Street Primary in Govanhill, and Willowbank Primary in Woodlands, to change faith. Like St Albert’s, 90% of these schools consisted of Muslim pupils. However, nothing came of it.

Each morning before lessons commence its 330 pupils, aged between five and 11, are invited to stand and recite the Lord’s Prayer. The whole school regularly attends a mass service in the assembly hall. When the final bell rings, the playground fills with life, but among the lively gaggle of pupils can be seen only a handful of white children; the great majority are Asian Muslims.

Father Joe Chambers, the Catholic Church’s representative on Glasgow City Council’s Education Services Committee, points out that there are clear guidelines on this issue laid out in education law, and that the school is following these satisfactorily:

“In denominational schools, there is a difference between religious observance and religious curriculum. The RE curriculum is the day-to-day teaching about faiths, and that is not optional. In Catholic schools, it must be predominantly Catholic, and that is mandatory just as maths or English would be. But religious observance is about having a service in schools, and [any] child is free to opt out of that. … When a school is designated a Catholic school, the teachers and administration must run it as such.”

I don’t really understand the mentality of contracting with a religious institution other than your own to educate your child, as though it’s just a matter of “plug your ears so that you can ‘opt out’ of religion class.” The Catholic identity should permeate the school and percolate into all of the disciplines. I would expect the same of an Islamic school. Why would anyone want to go to a Catholic school otherwise? It would be like me going to an art school and complaining that there weren’t enough automotive mechanic classes.

And I’ve never heard of any efforts in building a Catholic Church in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I could see the church being built in Riyadh, but then nobody would be allowed to enter it. Or they would be allow to enter the building but they couldn’t pray or take part of any of the Catholic elements or rituals. Or, they’d be allowed to enter the church, but upon leaving it they’d be arrested and executed. Remember that in Saudi Arabia Christians are incarcerated for violating the law which forbids celebrating a Eucharist even in the private home or apartment of a Catholic.

Of course the Muslims are free to start their own schools – pay for their own land and buildings, and give their own classically “Islamic” education to their Muslim children. Why don’t they? Why do Muslims, who remain so proud of Islam, not find that in their own countries, they wish to send their own children to Muslim schools?

St Albert’s a Catholic school. If you want a Muslim school, go out and start one of your own. Don’t demand that some other religious body show you some “good faith” by apostasizing to your false religion. You are one arrogant jerk, and I suggest you remember that you are in a predominantly Christian country where you have rights that no Christian would ever be allowed in a country dominated by Islam.

Its time Western countries looked into what is taking place and put a stop to free Muslim immigration and Muslim asylum seekers and giving free handouts to these parasites who will eventually kill the host. Once again Muslims are trying to appropriate what others have created. They’ve done that throughout their history. Islam is essentially a parasitic phenomenon, and the rise of Islam the greatest man-made disaster in human history.

Satan’s goal has always been to cause the inhabitants of the earth to worship him rather than God. As such Satan has long had a very specific plan to raise up his own worship movement that will literally cover the face of the earth. Those who believe the Bible, know this to be true. Through the Antichrist, and his False Prophet, the Bible says that Satan will come very close to achieving his goal just prior to the return of Jesus.

Islam views itself as the only true religion – indeed the only religion worthy to be practiced. As such Islam has as one of its goals, total world domination. Islam’s driving goal is to literally eradicate what it sees as the false and misplaced worship of all other religions. Until the day that everyone says, “none has the right to be worshipped other than Allah,” Islam will continue its fight against unbelievers and unbelieving nations.

The texts and scholars of Islam teach that global domination is to be striven for by all Muslims at all times. The striving for Islam’s furtherance and its eventual total world domination is called jihad. Indeed jihad (striving) is a basic requirement of all Muslims everywhere. It is an absolutely obligatory component of Islam.

Allah’s Apostle (Muhammad) said, “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.’” -Sahih Bukhari Volume 9, Book 84, Number 59, Narrated Abu Huraira

Fight those from among the people of the Book, who believe not in Allah, nor in the Last Day, nor hold as unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have declared to be unlawful, nor follow the true religion, until they pay the tax considering it a favour and acknowledge their subjection. -Surah 9:29 (Sher Ali)

O ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him). -Surah 9:123 (Pickthall)

We can’t just say “someone needs to stop the influx of Muslims” because that is discriminatory and runs counter to America’s most basic tenets. Yes Islam is a threat, and yes it’s designed to conquer the world by any means necessary, but in a worldly viewpoint, it is wrong to deny Muslims a life here. Sure we as Christians aren’t afforded the same rights in Muslim lands, but that is hardly an argument.

My point is, instead of responding with a desire to harm or oppress Muslims as revenge for our own impositions, we should actually welcome Muslims into our land and work to bring them the gospel in a spirit of Christ’s love.

I think one of the major problems with the pervasiveness of Islam these days is because Christians around the world have been ignoring Matthew 28, also known as “the great commission.” I think it comes from this postmodern thought that “your beliefs are just as valid as mine.” which certainly is not the case. Islam is a vile and disgusting religion, but that doesn’t mean all its adherents are, too.

As for the school thing: yeah, they’re idiots. :)
